Peace comes from mind and hope


Why is your heart troubled, why are you scared, why are you afraid?…

Though situations in life can be so funny most times bringing lots of negative thoughts

Sometimes it makes you feel less of yourself and the word “Fear” overshadows you.

Your negativity will increase and supersede your positivity, at this point many give up their dreams and vision in life saying…. “I can’t make it” then lots of excuses will be going through your mind.

I remember at some point back then in my life that I took failure as an option due to circumstances around, it was terrible then

I lost focus, a sense of belonging and negative thoughts keeps going through my mind.

I will discuss later on, how I manage to conquer and let peace and hope to stay, and how I managed to get rid of the turmoil around me.


Peace could be simply defined as freedom from disturbances, according to the Mariam-webster dictionary peace is

  1. a state of tranquility or quiet: such as

a: freedom from civil disturbance Peace and order was finally restored in the town.

b: a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom

  1. freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions, I have been in perfect peace and contentment.

I so much love the second definition, being free from oppressive thoughts or emotions.


Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen.

This means to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen.


According to Wikipedia – The mind is the set of faculties including cognitive aspects such as consciousness, imagination, perception, thinking, intelligence, judgment, language, and memory, as well as noncognitive aspects such as emotion and instinct.

I will say this is the central unit, where all decisions are been taken and processed.


According to the definition of mind, it involves the ability to acquire factual information, this can be said to be the kind of knowledge that can be easily tested

Since your imagination, thinking, judgment, and all you could think of comes from the mind, you agree with me that peace and hope also come from the mind as well, and not only that negative thought and all that revolves around come from there also.


There are lots of incident of occurrence that could cause one’s mind being troubled, here I will be stating a few of them below, they are: –

Loneliness: it can occur anywhere, anytime at any location, furthermore loneliness can be described as feeling sad and unhappy about socially isolated, sometimes we might find ourselves in the midst of a crowd and still be lonely.

There are several factors that can lead to loneliness which I will not be discussing in this article, though I will publish it in the future.

We feel lonely when feelings become excessive, taking all of our attention and time, and also interfere with daily living.

This could get you worried and your mind troubled.


Abuse, Trauma or Neglects: this is the easiest cause of a troubled mind, you often get upset when you’ve been abused, neglected, and when you experience psychological distress following any terrible or life-threatening events.

This often leads to a troubled mind.

Poverty or Debt: it’s said that when a man is not financially stable he is not happy, there is no way you can be in poverty or owing debt that your mind will be at peace, you will experience fear of the unknown, inability to cope, how to sustain yourself and the family/how to generate money to pay debts.

It’s very challenging and your mind will always be troubled.

Discrimination and stigma: when you are being treated badly because you don’t fall on a specific class or group or when you’re being disgrace of something or downplayed.

You feel less of one’s self, and this could lead to a troubled mind.

These are a few that could lead to a troubled mind, though there are lots of them, in order not to make this article too long I had to mention a few.

Some others are: bereavement, severe or long-term stress, unemployment or losing your job, homelessness, having a long-term physical condition, etc.


Since life itself is not stable, we often experience uptimes and downtimes, so; what do you do to get rid of downtimes and always have a peaceful mind or let me use the word uptime.

Doing the things you love: this has been one of my secrets which enables me to maintain a peaceful and positive mindset.

Anytime I feel a bit down or stressed, I will switch to the activities I love doing, and this often relief me from it and bring peace again.

Though it’s sometimes challenging when you’re in a working environment and you can’t switch to doing something else. Another trick I do use in this kind of scenario is to be friendly with whatever equipment in use or people around

….. it sounds crazy right, I know you might be thinking how can one be friendly to equipment or persons around when angry/upset.

Until you learn not to transfer aggression of an incident from one person to another, you’ll always have issues that will make you feel bad and your mind troubled, and this will take away the peace therein.


Try as much as possible to ignore and take everything as normal, with this you will always find peace within.

Reading motivational/educative books: most time we need to feed the mind with good food and also meditate, this helps in refreshing your thoughts towards positivity you also gain a boost in maximizing your potentials.

Making friends with benefit:  it’s often said, “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are”, we need to choose the kind of friends we hang around with, and it doesn’t mean you should scare away people coming around, try as much as possible to spend more time with friends that you learn new skills, ideas and even styles to carry out the task with ease.

Stay with loved ones, doing this you’ll always find peace and hope for the best.

Conclusion: It’s always necessary that you always try to maintain a positive mindset and let peace to reign because it’s from the inner the outer relates to and produces, once you’re the ability to think or relate will be limited. So never allow any incident, occurrence, stigma makes you feel disturbed or troubled.
