Most persons wished to hibernate their system after usage but can’t do that while using windows 10 because it’s initially disabled

In this article, I will guide you on how to enable hibernate as an option in the power section of your computer.

Follow these simple steps to activate hibernate in your Windows 10 power button

Click on the start button in the taskbar a popup menu displays

Click on the Settings icon

On the settings dialog box that displays click on System.

The system has a preoption: Display, sound, notification, and power

Click on it, The System dialog box will display

On the displayed dialog, click on Power and Sleep to navigate to the power option

On the power options that displays, click on Additional Power Settings

On the dialog box that displays, click on Choose what the Power button does

The initial settings will be set to do nothing on both the When I press the power button and When I close the Lid

All you have to do is change to hibernate in the on battery and plugged in option.

We have successfully done the first stage, but currently, the Hibernate is not yet an option while turning off your system or could be seen as one of the options while turning off your computer.

If you look carefully the shutdown settings are disabled currently and this means you can’t change its options, there is nothing to worry about because it can be enabled for you to be able to make changes.

Above the Power button and Lid, settings click on Change settings that are currently not available.

Once this is done the shutdown settings will be enabled for editing and click on the Hibernate checkbox.

Lastly, click on save changes.

Now you can click on the start button, click on power to confirm if the Hibernate option is visible.

Did it display am very sure it’s a YES… thumbs up.

Note: the steps vary based on the Windows 10 operating system, though it could be a slide difference, for instance, a Windows 10 professional user will get a bit different in settings as compared to windows 10 ultimate user, so whichever way this guide will give you a hint to get it done. Though I used Windows 10 Pro for this tutorial.
